Some desperately sad news:
The death has been announced of our club colleague Richard Szulik. Richard only joined the club a couple of years ago after retiring from DVLA. He was keen to lead an active retirement and, as I was a work colleague at the time, sought my advice as to which chess club he should join. Upon joining our club, his enthusiasm for chess, combined with his easy-going personality and his abilities as a conversationalist endeared him to both his fellow club members and his many opponents. Richard will be very sadly missed by all who knew him and our thoughts are with his wife Ann and family at this very sad time.
His funeral will be held at Swansea Crematorium on Wednesday 12th August at 2.30pm.
